Once in France the distances traveling between tourist attractions may be quite far so you may need some transportation. There is also an age requirement when renting cars which may vary with the different car rental companies. Taking the train is much cheaper than renting a car and is a much faster way to travel between the different French cities. The world's fastest train links some 50 French cities allowing you to reach just about anyplace in the country within hours.
